| Labyrinth Dedication Day / 2003-09-14_Trinity0064
The labyrinth was given in thanksgiving for the life of Sandra Rushing by her family. Beth Thornton (Sandra ’s daughter) will share the following: LABYRINTH DEDICATION Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to give something back to Trinity and this wonderful community. My mother found a sense of serenity and hope here with all of you and it™s our wish, as her family, that you too will find comfort and peace as you walk this labyrinth. My mom is here with us today and I think she™s smiling - she™s smiling because a labyrinth combines art, history and prayer - three of her passions in life, and also because this open area, right here on State Street, offers ALL people a place for spiritual growth and contemplation. We present this labyrinth as a gift from our family to Trinity Episcopal Church. Presider: Dear Creator and Guide, our God, be with us today as we dedicate and set apart this Sacred Path. Grant that those who come to it seeking your wisdom may find it. Grant that those who come to it seeking your healing may receive it. Grant that those who come with guilt may be freed for transformation, able to reconcile the past and released to walk into the future. Grant that those who come as a pilgrims seeking answers may find you a ready source of love, power, and peace. We ask you to hallow and bless and sanctify this labyrinth with your benediction, that it may continually and effectually bring together yourfaithful people to magnify by praise and work your holy name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. |
