I visited on 9/3, and found the parisn to be a loving and open and filled with Spirit. Even with all the exciting things happening, I was welcomed by Joyce (don't remember her last name) who guided me outside, stayed with me and explained about the upcoming "transition." Thanks for making me feel so welcome on ths auspicious occasion. I will be back!

My aunt, Lois Hitz, was a member of Trinity, and I remember visiting the church on one of my trips to see her. I also very much enjoyed reading Nora Gallagher's two books, "Things Seen and Unseen" and "Practicing Resurrection."

Just finished Nora Gallagher's book, Practicing Resurrection. I HAD to find out more about Trinity, the Source of her life in the church. And we'll visit you all shortly, hopefully.

Hola! Thank you so much for being a resource and model. I found your website as a result of links from the Diocese of Minnesota site on the topic of welcoming congregations. I am a member of a Spanish-speaking Mission called, El Santo Nino Jesus, where last evening and early this morning we welcomed many visitors to the Mass and celebration of "Our Lady of Guadalupe". As a member of the Bishop's Committee, I am working on ways we can improve our hospitality; thanks for being an inspiration.

I attended Trinity from September 1952 till June 1954 while I was a student at UCSB--this was before the campus moved to Isla Vista and was still on the hill. Boy, have you changed! And for the better. Who'd have thought "staid" Santa Barbara would have such an involved parish. What wonderful things are going on in the church now, with increasing relevance and caring for all God's folk. I'm now a member of Christ Church Parish, Tacoma, WA, another involved and outreaching parish with a fine music program. Love and prayers for all you do. Alice Christiansen

Dear Trinity Santa Barbara: * Thank you for your wonderful website - WOW! Trinity was also the name of my Episcopal Church in my hometown of Swarthmore, PA. I recently attended your Blessing of the Animals Service, during our All Saints' Beverly Hills Women's Retreat weekend at the Santa Barbara Mission Center. * Visiting Trinity was a wonderful experience - everyone at Trinity made us feel so welcome! * Although I am happily living in LA, I am considering a permanent move to Santa Barbara. I know I would sorely miss my current spiritual home, All Saints' Beverly Hills, but it's so nice to know that I could hopefully have another spiritual home at Trinity. * Thanks again for your welcoming website. I would love to be on your mailing list in the meantime: My Address: Dina N. Warren P. O. Box 3574 Beverly Hills, CA 90212-0574 In Christ, Dina Ninette *****

Alison Harrison told us of this website; she and her children have been attending your church during their year in the States, which is now drawing to an end. We are looking forward to having them back here at Holy Trinity, Southwell! From where we send greetings in our Lord Jesus.

I am so glad to get your web site from Episcopal Life; I have read Nora Gallagher's book many times and have prayed that I could find a church like Trinity. I live in Jackson, Ms. and belong to a large Episcopal churh here but nothing like Trinity. Thanks for sharing all the messages from others.

It is great to have access to your website. Jina gave me your address because I am planning to come as Postdoctoral Fulbrighter with my 73 years old mother for a period of 9 months tentatively arrival time is March 5 or Feb 28, 2002. My total monthly stipend with tax deductions is $2,200. I am finding much difficulty in searching out a space Single Bed Apartment or shared Home where kichen, Bathroom, Laundery etc facilities are available at a reasonable monthly rent. Looking at your "sharing and loving " motto , I thought as advised by Jina May be Rev.Anne Howard could help me in this respect.

I am a fellow believer from Mississippi. God has lead me to attend Brooks. I am searching for a church home in the SB area. I have never stayed anywhere more than three hours from home for more than two weeks. This is a huge step out of my comfort zone, but I know that this is what God wants for me to do. Please pray for me that i might be a humble and willing servent. Also, any information about the area would be much appreciated. I will be looking for a place to stay and a job. Love in Christ

I would like to know, who the group of people where who had signs in front of your church before the 9/11/01 date. I do not see them out there now. Just wondering who this group was and why are they not there now. I think that your church is the most beautiful stone work in Santa Barbara. I go by it twice a day. I am glad that your website is so informative and I may just try one of your services this Christmas season. God bless all of you.

The wonders of modern technology mean that I have just been looking at the photograph of my sister-in-law,nieces and nephew making a Christmas wreath. In our village we have a flower festival in summer which involves parishoners making flower displays. However the interesting part of village life in this county is the well dressings which take place in the summer months. Flower petals and leaves are used to make pictures and placed above the wells, there is then a well blessing ceremony which gives thanks to God for the water. It is an ancient custom and unfortunatley probably pre dates christianity. It is also interesting because the ceremony is usually inter denominational involving all the churchs in the villages.

Re Advent wreath making potluck. It was a wonderful and exciting “Trinity” families’ celebration , full of nurturing fellowship and lots of fabulous food.:):) But, at the core of it all, it was a spiritually enriching experience; I learned what "Advent" meant and about the lighting of the candles, etc. I think this custom that marks the beginning of Christmas has had a meditative and sobering effect on me and one that I will be looking forward to and hoping, with God’s help, to be able to upkeep for the rest of my life.

just checked in and was so glad to see the photos of the blessing of the animals, 10/7/01. I was unable to attend that morning, but the rest of my family did go, taking our wonderful mongrel. I am happy to see that Higgins is actually photogenic, and hope that he got a special blessing that day. As an aside, some friends of ours decided to make their first visit to Trinity that day, and I had warned them in advance about the content of the day, so they brought their dog too, and had a wonderful time, until the dog .....well, all I have to say is that having the service outside was brilliant. The website is so well done. I'm looking forward to returning to check out some of the sermons I've missed. Thank you for posting them on the website. And, Michael, you are great behind that camera. Keep up the good work!

I have recently finished reading Ms. Gallagher's book "Things Seen and Unseen: A Year Lived In Faith." It is nice to be able to put faces with the names in the book. It seems that you all are doing great work to advance the Kingdom of God. As I consider my own potential vocation to the priesthood, your Church's story is a great inspiration to me. God Bless You All. Yours in Christ, Mark Mitchell (St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Thomasville, Georgia)

Thank you for having The Very Rev. Wm. Rankin preaching at Trinity in March and carrying his sermon on your website. The work that he is leading to stem the tide of the African AIDS pandemic through the Global AIDS Interfaith Alliance (GAIA) is truly a task of Christian charity. Hopefully other guest book readers will check out the website that explains what this group is doing: www.theGAIA.org And, hats off for your great website

We would first like to introduce ourselves to you; my husband and I have worked for the past 14 years with youth as youth workers, small group leaders and in Youth Missions. I have worked for nine year in Children’s Ministry as children’s pastor at His Place Foursquare Church and now at Christ the King. During this past year God has been calling us to the Great commission in Matthew 28:19, Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. We are more than willing to go, but Lord how do we reach all nations? Last year we took a team of youth to Australia...

Yesterday we returned home to Scotland following a three-week drive through California. A highlight, on many levels, of our holiday was to join you in your Easter Vigil. We had looked into your beautiful church on Saturday afternoon and met a lady who welcomed us and invited us to come to the evening service. When we entered the church, she was there again, and we felt that we had made a friend. Unfortunately, we didn't note down her name, but we would love to get in touch with her again. Our experience that evening, and reading Nora Gallagher's moving book about life at Trinity, has opened our eyes and hearts to many things. Thank you.

I am trying to contact Norah D. again. I had her email but lost it. I have just completed an article on the wider issues concerning genetically modified crops and wondered if she would like a copy. The article includes a discussion of whether GM is or is not in line with God's will and I thought with her interest in environmental considerations that she would be interested. If so then please contact me on joe.perry@bbsrc.ac.uk

I heard Nora Gallagher's sermon on oneness with nature. Much of it was very good, except I was saddened by the references to BT in GM cotton, and the subsequent references to the effect on wildlife in general and Monarch butterflies in particular. Norah's comments here were ill-informed, and I would welcome the opportunity to draw her attention to the ecological papers that have appeared in the literature recently. Within the Christian community here in England there is a big debate on GM issues, and I am pleased to say that scientists are taking part in the debate. The web site is a wonderful resource - I have recommended it to our Rector, here in Todd

Mr. Ferguson: We enjoyed our visit to Trinity Sunday, but I fear I was short with you when we were talking. I'm sorry; the service went on longer than we antcipated and I was very hungry so I wasn't my usual friendly self. We appreciated the change in communion procedure from our last visit when we filed by to receive the elements. The reader was excellent! We are still shopping for a church, but like what we see and the way visitors are treated at Trinity. We will see you again soon.

Thank you for making my one-month stay in Santa Barbara so meaningful. I am especially grateful to have experienced the Easter season with you. I will continue to visit your web site on my travels and when I get back home to Greece.

This is the first opportunity I've had to use our website and am I ever impressed! It's so beautiful that I didn't want to leave the introductory page yet did so to find lots of helpful information. We have such a special community at Trinity that it is a treat to find it reflected on our website as well. Blessings to all of you who designed and now maintain it!

Wow! A Guest Book, an up-to-date calendar and a site full of valuable infommation and links to other interesting sites. Who's been keeping this site a secret?

One thing you might want to consider adding is a simple directory. Not of members, but of staff and their e-mail addresses. For instance, I am in the choir--I'm looking for Gray Brothers' e-mail address and don't have my Member Directory handy--I noticed Mark and other clergy have theirs listed, but a simple comprehensive listing in alpha order of church leaders would be helpful.

Have been attending Trinity for about six months now. All I can say about Trinity, is that, I've never been anywhere as friendly as this PLACE before. It really seems as if I have walked right into my own church.(in Iran) I know that, I have so much to say to my people back home once I get there. God Bless you all for your good work, and special thanks for having me as part of the family.

I am so impressed! What a terrific accomplishment and resource. I have not read all the pages but it is so nicely done. I look forward to things to come. Many thanks.
