Introduction to Centering Prayer

  • Trinity Episcopal Church 1500 State Street Santa Barbara, CA, 93101 (map)

Are you curious about prayer? Are you open to deepening your relationship with the Divine that dwells within, among and beyond us? Are you interested in learning about a spiritual practice that you can do on your own and/or with others? Centering Prayer is a form of receptive silent prayer in which we welcome God’s presence and activity within us. It draws on the ancient practices of early Christianity.

All are invited to attend a presentation in the Guild Hall on this contemplative practice. You’ll learn more about the history of Centering Prayer and how to do it, and will have an opportunity to ask questions.

Then, beginning on Thursday October 23, time TBD, we will offer a series of five weekly Centering Prayer sessions in the Chapel that are open to ALL. So whether you are just dipping your toe in the water, you have been praying this way for years, or you want to revive your practice, you are welcome!
